There are so many famous women that have been talked about throughout history. Some of them fought first hand in battle and that is what made them famous, others had a say in giving women rights in the Declaration of Independence, and being a spy. All of these women took a stand and no matter if what they were doing was wrong in the eyes of the men they did what they thought was courageous and necessary at the time, and for most of them after their work was over with and the battle was complete they were commemorated for the things they had done.
Nancy Hart is known as a Revolutionary War spy. Her husband was away at war and she was at home with her children most of the time except when she was off doing her secret duties. The British had their suspicions about her and kept a close eye on her.
Her story starts off with British soldiers forcing her to cook them a meal. While she was cooking she got their guns and held them at gun point. She shot and killed the first one that disobeyed her order to not move. Later she ended up wounding a second and the soldiers surrendered. Her and some neighbors decided to hang them. Later in 1912 the bodies were found near the Hart's house which confirmed the legend to be true.
