The Revolutionary War took place in the eighteenth century during the years 1775-1783. The war is also known as the U.S War if Independence. The war began to come about because of the strain between the inhabitants of the thirteen North Americans colonies of Great Britain and the colonial government. Altercations in April of 1775 in Lexington and Concord between British troops and colonial militiamen started off the war and after a year they were in full force fighting for their independence.
In 1778, France entered the war on the colonists side, the addition of the French made the war now become an international conflict rather than a civil war.Although the war lasted until 1783, the British surrendered in 1779 in Yorktown Virginia.
